Megan Bowen (ChoNunMiGookSaram) K-Beauty Box Review

I recently got a little something in the mail- Megan's K Box from ChoNunMigookSaram. She's been a personal favorite Youtuber of mine for years so I was excited to see her come out with a box with products she actually uses.

Onto the specifics: the box came with five full size beauty products and a free little sticker sheet. The total cost of the box was $40 which honestly, is pretty fairly priced for themed boxes like this.

The products were two lip tints, one set of false eyelashes, a sparkly highlighting eyeliner, and a moisturizing face mask.  One thing I wish the box had was a little card with all the product names, since one of the products was completely in Korean.

The first product is Etude House's Tear Eye Liner.

This is a highlighting eyeliner meant to be applied to the inner corners of the eyes, and is great for aegyo sal. In real life it comes across really bright and sparkly as opposed to photos you may see online. Although the glitter did not flake down my face, I would recommend using very little product with this one. It's a great product for opening up the eyes, though not very subtle. But if you want a very open, dolly-eyed look, it pairs nicely with circle lenses to make your eyes look huge.

Next, we have a lip tint whose brand is unknown since I can't read Hangul. This was actually a different product than what was initially advertised for the box, since Megan was having a difficult time getting the other one in time to ship out.

Comparing the two lip stains- the mystery name Korean brand is to the left, Berrisom is on the right.
After applied.
It comes with standard wand application that you generally see in lip tints. This one is much more of a true red color, which I find isn't as flattering on my skin tone as berry shades. The staying power on this is okay, I would say after 4-6 hours it starts to look like you don't have any lip color on. It has a pleasant citrus scent when applied. I think it's a good lip tint if you're new to that sort of product, otherwise, it's pretty standard.
Next, we have Berrisom's My Lip Tint Pack in Sexy Red. Despite the name, it is much more of a purple berry shade than a deep red color. This was definitely the product I was most intrigued by, since it had a more unusual application.

Waiting for it to dry.

This one is pretty interesting; this is a peel-off lip tint. If you saw Megan's initial video for this beauty box, you just apply the tacky liquid from the tube and wait 15-20 minutes for it to dry. After that, you peel the product off you're face and you're good for the day.
Done!
I messed up a little the first time I applied it and ripped the product off too soon- despite doing that, dried lip tint was not stuck to my face forever and the product still lasted over 12 hours. This product is really easy to work with, and as long as you wait the instructed time to peel off the product, the color will last a long time and look nice.

Next is the eyelashes- Etude House's My Beauty Tool in #3.

These guys are intense! Since I don't wear false eyelashes that often, I'll probably wait until my next cosplay I make to wear these. The band on this one is pretty flexible, I definitely feel like it's a step up from my typical Daiso lashes. My favorite thing about these is that the lashes are thinner and smaller in the inner corners and gradually get bigger. Although dramatic, I think that helps soften the look.

I didn't take any photos of the Klairs mask, but if you have ever used a sheet mask, you know what you're getting into. The things I liked about the mask were the soft material (it felt like nice cotton) and the fact it was able to cover my whole face. My face is pretty wide, so usually face masks miss a whole inch or so of coverage. Aside from that, I think the mask was pretty standard. My face didn't feel any more moisturized or tightened after the way it has with masks from other brands.

Aaaaaaaaaand, that's it! I would say 3 out of the 5 products I really liked, and will probably repurchase, with 2 of them I'm pretty neutral about. The Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack was definitely my favorite, the color was still noticeable after 14 hours! I hope ChoNunMigookSaram comes out with more beauty boxes like this in the future, this was a fun way to try out products I didn't know about or was unsure of before.
See you later!

Plumprimo Review

Hello! To start off my blog I’d like to tackle one of my favorite Japanese clothing stores to buy from: DreamV/Yumetenbo. They have a store on Rakuten here and are known for having cute, but casual pieces that work well for hemekaji or Lolita.

DreamV launched the Plumprimo brand in 2014. Most of Plumprimo’s items come from the Dear My Love brand and are simply extended sizes. Though the sizes go up to 6L, I have only seen that size in about two items. Dear My Love is the most girly and sweet gyaru of their brands, often with bear and heart motifs on their designs. Plumprimo’s specific section within the store is rather small though, as it seems Yumetenbo has been focusing on promoting the brand Mon Lily due to the Larme trend in Japan.

I have ordered from Yumetenbo twice, once going directly through Rakuten and once using a shopping service. Both are safe in my opinion- though it should be warned that if you go directly through Rakuten, even if you order through the international site, all emails sent to you about your order will be in Japanese. The store does not calculate shipping by weight but by how much you spend, so it makes shipping much cheaper. Both times I have ordered I have received the items in less than two weeks and they were packaged well.

Onto the actual clothes- I have two items from the Plumprimo brand, a birdcage skirt and a Sailor-style dress. Both items are lined in the skirt and have no sewing flaws.

First, the skirt. I ordered this in a 4L, and I am impressed at how forgiving the shirring is. I feel like it could easily accommodate someone with a waist up to 40 inches. It’s also a fairly nice length, about 20 inches, so it covers up any problem areas on the legs. This is a great, versatile piece for casual wear.

Next, the dress. The fabric on this one surprised me. I expected a lightweight polyester but it is actually made of fairly thick jersey fabric. The collar and sleeves are made of a chiffon fabric. Since this dress is made of jersey and there is elastic on the back of the waist, this dress would fit and flatter a wide range of sizes. It should also be noted that the sleeves are comfortable and fit nicely on my arms! One of my biggest issues with short-sleeved items is that an item will fit everywhere else but my arms. Again, the skirt hits at a nice point on my legs, about 3 inches above my knee.

Overall I am very pleased with both of my items from this store and want to buy more soon! I am a little concerned about the longevity of the brand, since there are only two pages of Plumprimo specific items and many of said items are reduced in price. For the moment though, I am happy there is a place for Marshmallow Girls to get some cute and figure-flattering clothes.
